Sophia Webster: Fashion

These images are from the designer Sophia Webster's collection, what I like about her work is she is not afraid to use colour and pattern,

She mixes patterns and adds humour to her work[1]

she has also recently teamed up with makeup brand Revlon to create a range of shoes that were inspired by Revlon's latest lipstick collection , which I think is very interesting and unique.

Mass Production

http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/design/images/tx_production.jpg

This image is an example of mass production within the textile industry,
I have chosen to research mass production as it is
 what interests me the most.
Mass production has its good and bad side, the good side
being you can manufacturer big amounts of items,
so for example this could mean fabric or prints etc.

mass production became prominent in the 1900s [1]

It also works out better for the main boss of the company for
which the products are being made
As it will be cheaper for them.

It also works out to be less expensive by making the
product in larger amounts. But a disadvantage might be
that due to the quickness of making the products,
not every product will always be the same.

Large quantities, you cannot check for
accuracy until several have been made[2].

An advantage is that it does give a person a job
and a wage but they might not get paid
very well, which is a disadvantage.

These images show my group work about ethics and answering different questions about a group of people and trying to work out the ethics, how they would be influenced etc.

Target Markets

Target markets are what company’s will aim their products to so a specific group of people for example a shop such as super dry would most probably aim their products at a younger market. Whereas a shop such as Laura Ashley would aim their products at older people because their style is more of a period style when it comes to interiors, their clothes are also aimed at an older market/ majority.
